Final Cut Pro to Mediasilo using Compressor


You can export files from Final Cut Pro to you Mediasilo account using Apple’s Compressor found in Final Cut Studio.

Configuring Compressor

Settings

  •     In the settings tab in Compressor and click the “+” on the righthand side of the window
  •     Select the setting of your choice (i.e. Quicktime Movie).
  •     Name the setting (i.e. Mediasilo export)
  •     Select your file format
  •     Select your video setting (H.264 is recommended)
  •     Select your audio setting
  •     Click the size button and select your size.  It is recommended that if you are working with HD footage the you chose “50% of source”.
  •     Click Save

Destination

  •     Select the destination tab in Compressor and click the “+” on the righthand side of the window.  Select remote.
  •     Name your destination “Mediasilo FTP”
  •     Enter hostname “upload.mediasilo.com”
  •     Enter a filepath.  This would be the workspace where the file is being imported.  However, it is also optional.
  •     Your username will be your login name for your Mediasilo account AND your Mediasilo account name. (i.e usernamecompanyname)
  •     Enter your password.
  •     Click OK

Setting Defaults

  •     Select preferences
  •     Set default setting to "Mediasilo Export"
  •     Set default destination to "Mediasilo FTP"
  •     Click OK

Exporting from Final Cut Pro

  •     Highlight sequence you would like to export
  •     Choose file menu, export and select export using compressor
  •     You will be brought back to Compressor where your sequence now listed with your default setting name and destination.     
  •     Click Submit.
